Kenya Announce Squad For Upcoming T20I Series Against Nepal

Kenya cricket team have announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Nepal. The series will get underway on August 25 (Thursday) at the Nairobi Gymkhana Club Ground.

Led by Shem Ngoche, the hosts have named a balanced as they look to topple Nepal to mark the return of international cricket in the country after a decade. A lot will depend on senior batter Alex Obanda, who has experience of playing 49 ODIs and 42 T20Is. Wicketkeeper-batter Irfan Karim also has some experience under his belt.

The bowling attack will be led by Nehemiah Odhiambo, who brings in tons of experience along with himself. Kenya will have to fire in unison to upset a seasoned Nepal team led by star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane.

Manoj Patel, chairman of Cricket Kenya is delighted with cricket returning to the country after a long break. Speaking exclusively to CricFit, he said:

This tournament will only solidify the relationship between the two countries. But its Kenyan cricket fans and players who stand to benefit the most from this tournament. I invite everyone in Kenya to be a part of this historic event and make this a grand success.”
