The RCB skipper is currently struggling for form in IPL 2020. A sight which is very unusual as everyone associates Kohli is leading from the front and scoring loads of runs. However, the run machine has had scores of 14, 1 and 3 in IPL 2020 so far.
Now Kevin Pietersen has pointed out an interesting point as to why Kohli is struggling for form. The former England captain said that a player like Kohli is a showman who feeds from the energy of the crowd when he’s batting.
Virat Kohli Is A Showman And Needs Crowd Support- Kevin Pietersen
With no support from the crowd in IPL this year even he’s finding it tough to adapt. Pietersen is now keen on seeing how Kohli finds his rhythm and peak form for RCB in an important IPL season.
“I think that I am going to stick with where I was at the start of the tournament. Talking about a guy like Virat Kohli, you are talking about his showmanship and where he likes to play the game. And, his ability to accept the energy of the ground,” Pietersen said on Star Sports.
He added, “He hasn’t started very well at all. And he accepts that, and he even said at the press conference, accepting the responsibility of some of the stuff that he has been doing”.
“So, he is man enough to accept his responsibility and I am still very interested to see how a guy like him makes a comeback,” Pietersen said.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen further added that even though Kohli is the best batsman in the world even he needs spectators to perform. The former English batsman added that it will be interesting to see how Virat Kohli adjusts with no crowd in the stands.
“He is the best of the best when it comes to batting has the best showmanship of the sport. But there is no spectators and a showman needs spectators. So, at the moment, he is not very good, and he accepts that. It will be the most interesting feature of this IPL to see Kohli with no crowds”, said Pietersen.
Furthermore, Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in IPL history but still hasn’t hit a single boundary in his 3 innings in IPL.
