Afghan pacer Dawlat Zadran has been ruled out of their debut test against India at Bengaluru. Dawlat injured his knee in a training camp in India.
He is also ruled out of the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh at Dehradun which commences from June 3. This injury comes as a major blow for the side as he is the one who clocks 140kmph on a consistent basis.
He played a vital role in clinching the berth for 2019 world cup picking eight wickets in the qualifiers. His bag includes over 137 wickets in 105 matches and his absence will really hurt the side.
The one-off test match will be played at Bangalore from June 14-18 and with Rashid and Mujeeb in the squad it will be interesting how they get accustomed to the spin-friendly conditions at Bangalore.
Ajinkya Rahane will lead the squad and Kohli will be undergoing the fitness test at Bangalore on June 15th. The news was tweeted by the Afghanistan cricket board yesterday.
Fast bowler @dawlat_zadarn suffered a knee injury during the training camp in India. He has been advised one month's rest by doctors. Therefore, he will not be available for the T20I series against Bangladesh as well as Afghanistan's one-off Test against India.
