The retirement speculation of the former India skipper MS Dhoni has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. He has been on a sabbatical since India’s lost to New Zealand in the rain-marred semifinal of the ICC World Cup 2019 in England. While the entire world continues to dwell on his retirement, former selector Kiran More has also shared his thoughts.

Incidentally, the legendary wicket-keeper batsman copped severe criticisms for his below-par performances throughout the tournament. His poor outing with the bat also took a toll on his confidence which in turn affected in wicket-keeping. MS Dhoni was mulling a return during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and had already started his training at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

However, with IPL postponed for an indefinite period due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, MS Dhoni’s comeback to international cricket looks gloomy. Speaking on the same lines, Kiran More feels the unwanted break can change his plans.

“It’s very difficult, it’s his call. It’s going to be tough, not going to be easy. Mind says you want to, but the body does not allow. Before IPL, he was fit, I saw him in the nets, he was raring to go. In tennis, guys of 34, 39 are on top of their game.

Now if you are disciplined, if you keep your mind and body strong you can make a comeback. Ashish Nehra made a comeback and did very well,” More said while talking to Sportskeeda.

Meanwhile, the likes of Suresh Raina and Piyush Chawla, who were with MS Dhoni in the CSK training camp said that the latter was looking a lot more active this time around. Raina took one step further saying that his preparations looked different this time around. However, only time will say what Dhoni will do in the coming days and the fans will have to wait to hear a word from his mouth.
