The former India Head Coach, Rahul Dravid is rumoured to be pursuing an opportunity to become part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) setup. As per the news of News18 Bangla, The Kolkata Knight Riders wish him to become the IPL mentor for the Knights.

After the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the United States and West Indies, Rahul Dravid left the Indian team. The former Indian cricketer won as a coach quit. They narrowly missed out on winning the 2023 ODI World Cup that was hosted by India, and it was then that Dravid eventually put another World Cup trophy in his cabinet.

According to the latest news updates today, Kolkata Knight Riders are negotiating with Rahul Dravid to be their mentor in the next season. Should these rumours have any truth at all, Gautam Gambhir might shortly cease being KKR’s mentor if Dravid takes over.

Rahul Dravid had a successful tenure with the Indian team:

The Indian cricket team, headed by Rahul Dravid, was finally able to win the ICC title in the senior men category, with a head-coaching position being occupied by a veteran cricketer in this particular instance. The final match on June 29th, played in Barbados, starred South Africa under Aiden Markram with the captaincy of Rohit Sharma against India, winning by 7 runs and winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid led India to their second T20 World Cup after its inaugural edition in 2007, thereby breaking an eleven-year drought for ICC titles. Dravid’s tenure saw three ICC finals for India, where they lost two of them. The ODI World Cup of 2023 against Australia and the ICC World Test Championship in 2021–2023 were both finals involving men in blue, but both ended up losing.

However, BCCI made a wise call by extending his contract until the end of the T20 World Cup, 2024, as it was under his guidance that the men’s side clinched an ICC trophy for the first time in 11 years.
