KL Rahul has admired Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne ahead of the India and Australia series. Labuschagne since the 2019 Ashes in England has been continuously piling on the runs in every condition. In the last year, he has even outscored David Warner and Steve Smith in Test cricket.

Now with 827 points, Labuschagne is ranked 3rd in the ICC test match rankings for batsmen only behind Smith and Virat Kohli. KL Rahul hailed Labuschagne for his consistent batting performances in recent times and added that India bowlers will have a set plan for him in the upcoming tour.

Marnus Labuschagne has been really consistent – KL Rahul

The 26-year-old Labuschagne already has staggering numbers in Test cricket. In 24 matches he has amassed 1459 runs at an astonishing average of 63 with 4 hundred. He has continued his prolific batting form in ODI cricket and averages 44 after 10 matches.

“I don’t think he is unknown anymore. He is in the top 5 and he has been getting a lot of runs in the last 12-15 months or before the COVID in the games that he played. He has been really consistent for his side”.

“We have watched how Marnus played and fingers crossed hopefully, he won’t score that many runs against us. We will have a plan set, we have a top-quality bowling attack so it will be a good challenge for him and our bowlers as well,” KL Rahul was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile talking about his own performances, Rahul is pleased with the way he has been contributing in winning causes for team India with the bat. Rahul is expected to bat at number 5 and keep wickets in the ODI series beginning from tomorrow at Sydney.

“I have never got a long run like this. So yeah, it feels good that I am contributing to team’s win and playing my role pretty well. Happy that I can put up consistent performances,” said KL Rahul.
