Kohli”s career best knock helps India take 1-0 lead

A career-best unbeaten knock of 94 by skipper Virat Kohli helps India achieve a lead of 1-0 in the three-match T20I series against the Carribiens. The high scoring thriller went down the wire at Hyderabad.

Evin Lewis, Hetmyer and Pollard played their part in posting a total of 207 on the board. Indian bowlers registered expensive figures on the board as the batsmen took a carnage. Barring Jadeja, others registered an economy above 8.

Chasing a huge target, Rohit Sharma wasn”t able to capitalize on his start. The responsibility fell on the shoulders of Kohli and Rahul who played fearless cricket against the Windies bowlers. Rahul scored a fine fifty in the process. He also became the third-fastest cricketer to achieve the feat of 1000 T20I runs.

Kohli remained as the primary batsman in the middle after the departure of Rahul and took India to reach the total. This is his 23rd fifty in the shortest format of the game. Kesrick Williams and others were taken for a ride along the Park as the ball kept hitting the boundary line.

Needless to say that Kohli was adjudged the man of the match for his aggressive knock in recent times.
