Virat Kohli is one of the greatest ambassadors of the game and is renowned not only in India but across the world. Recently, the Kashmir Premier League’s (KPL) President Arif Malik announced that he has decided to send a formal invite to India‘s star batter Virat Kohli to participate in the second edition of the league.

If not as a player, the organisers are also open to having Kohli as a guest. All the matches of the second season of the Kashmir Premier League will be played at Muzaffarabad Stadium, in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

“Rizwan gave a very positive message that cricket should be beyond anything else. So we are sending a letter to Virat Kohli, inviting him to play in the league or at least come and watch one match,” Malik said in a video adding that the preparations were in full swing for the second edition.

“Along with the KPL, cricket fans will also get to see a fantasy league in which teams from Muzaffarabad and Srinagar will be seen playing virtually with each other. We want to bring people of both sides together so that we can spread the message of peace,” Malik added.

We should sent an invitation to Virat Kohli – Rashid Latif

Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif, who was recently roped in as the Director of Cricket Operations for KPL, also backed the decision to send an invitation to the former Indian captain Virat Kohli.
“We should sent an invitation [to Virat Kohli] but the decision to play lies with the player,” said Latif while speaking to Dawn News. “It’s good to initiate such a thing.” “I also advised [Najam] Sethi to send invitations to all cricket boards, which includes BCCI as well, for PSL,” he added.
The second edition of KPL will start on August 1 and the final match will be played on August 14.
