The drama revolving around Rohit Sharma‘s participation has another addition as this time its the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who has made it clear that whoever was handling Rohit Sharma’s case hasn’t managed to handle it quite well as there has been a lot of confusion regarding his injury.

As of now Rohit Sharma is in India recovering from the injury he sustained the IPL whilst playing for the Mumbai Indians. Since Rohit was nursing an injury he initially wasn’t named in any of the squads that were to travel to Australia but as Rohit made his comeback for the Mumbai franchise in the end stages of the tournament almost everyone was certain that the opener would be participating in the Australian tour.

Then came a time when Rohit after the conclusion of the IPL headed back to Mumbai instead of travelling to Australia with the Indian team. This led to more confusion as neither BCCI nor Mumbai Indians had released any press statement revealing the extent of the injury.

‘There’s Been A Lack Of Clarity On Rohit Sharma’s Injury’ – Virat Kohli

Few days prior to the kickoff to the tour, the Indian selectors made it clear that both Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma won’t be travelling to Australia anytime soon as they still haven’t recovered from the injury. This confirmed that both Rohit and Ishant Sharma are all set to miss the first couple of tests against Australia.

A day before the start of the ODI series, Indian skipper Virat Kohli in a press conference stated that he had no information on why Rohit wasn’t travelling with the team as the only piece of information that had was Rohit is in the NCA recovering from the injury.

“We had no information whatsoever on the reason why he is not travelling with us. The only other information we have received officially that he is at the NCA and he will be further assessed on December 11,” Virat Kohli said.

Kohli further added how there has been a lack of clarity from the concerned parties as he himself was waiting for a decision to be made. After all of this has been quite confusing for Virat Kohli himself

“From that selection meeting to IPL finishing till the last e-mail, there has been no information, lack of clarity and we have been playing the waiting game on this issue for a while, which is not ideal at all. It has been confusing,” said Virat Kohli.
