Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli’s form has become the talk of the town in the cricketing world. He has been going through a prolonged lean patch in his career, for the last two years. His consistent failures have drawn a lot of criticism from fans and experts. Some former cricketers, including Kapil Dev, have raised questions over Kohli’s place in the Indian team in the T20 format. However, Pakistan Babar Azam has rallied behind the veteran batter.

Virat Kohli missed the first ODI against England due to a groin injury. He returned back the team for the second match and replaced Shreyas Iyer in the XI. However, Kohli could manage to score just 16 runs off the 25 balls that he faced. So far, the former Indian skipper has not played a single impactful inning on the England tour this year. He scored his last international century back in 2019 against Bangladesh at home.

Amidst all the criticism Virat Kohli has been facing, Babar Azam has shed some support for the Indian cricketer. Taking to Twitter, Babar Azam shared a picture with Virat Kohli and urged him to stay strong during these tough times. He wrote, This too shall pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli.”

Babar Azam’s tweet for Virat Kohli won hearts on social media. Fans and former cricketers lauded the Pakistan skipper for supporting Kohli, despite the rivalry between the two countries.

Virat Kohli is one of the best payers: Babar Azam

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam spoke about his tweet supporting Virat Kohli, as the latter battles with poor form. He expressed that he knows that a player needs support when going through a tough phase. Babar also termed Virat Kohli as “one of the best” in the business.

“As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form) and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support.
