Eoin Morgan was roped in for 5.25 crores by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2020 auction. The decision to include Morgan to the side was a tactical move by the KKR management. Together with Dinesh Karthik and Brendon McCullum, Morgan is expected to share his experience as a captain and also an important cog in the KKR middle-order.

KKR middle-order batsman Nitish Rana in a pre-season interview with kkr.in shared his thoughts on working with Morgan in IPL 2020 and his preparations for the season.

When asked about how big was Eoin Morgan’s inclusion into the team, Rana said ” I am really excited to work with Morgan. He is a World Cup-winning captain and one of the rare left-handers to dominate the white-ball format.

Rana further added that he is looking forward to learn a lot of new things from the England skipper Eoin Morgan.

” He is a captain of one of the successful world cup winning teams and I am looking forward to imbibe his leadership qualities within me so that I can become a better player.

Morgan’s inclusion in the KKR ranks has been a much talked about subject in the lead-up to the IPL 2020. He led England to their maiden 50-over world cup win last year, which has all the more given Morgan, a reputation to match up to.

He will be batting in the middle-order for KKR and is expected to play all the 14 matches given that he stays injury-free. Morgan has been in good T20 form off-late. He led England to a T20I series win against arch-rivals Australia, while was clinical with his leadership in the ODIs.

Eoin Morgan last played for KKR in IPL 2013 and returns to the side after six seasons, as a much experienced and wise cricketer. Together with Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan forms one the most formidable trio in the middle-order in IPL 2020.
