“Maine Kisi Ke Sentiments Hurt Nahi Kiye” – Shreyas Iyer’s Sister Opens Up On IPL Reel Controversy

Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shresta Iyer, has spoken in support of her viral ‘Ditta Ek Point’ reel from Indian Premier League 2026. In the video, she mocked Kolkata Knight Riders after their rain-hit league match against Punjab Kings ended without a result, implying Punjab had “handed” Kolkata a point when KKR had not yet opened their account on the points table.

During the premiere episode of the reality show Lock Upp, host Riteish Deshmukh questioned Shresta about the reel, noting that many KKR fans felt offended by the remark. Responding to this, the choreographer said there was no intention to hurt anyone and described the reel as light-hearted banter. Shresta said:

“Maine kisi ke sentiments hurt nahi kiye hai (I did not hurt anyone’s sentiments). I think it was just fun banter. Sports mein aise fun banters hote rehte hai (Such fun banters are common in sports).”

Shresta Iyer faced significant trolling over the reel after Punjab Kings missed out on a playoff spot despite an impressive start to their Indian Premier League 2026 campaign. Led by Shreyas Iyer, PBKS remained unbeaten for seven consecutive matches early in the season, but their form dipped in the latter half, resulting in a fifth-place finish with 15 points.

Shreyas Iyer’s Sister Removes ‘Ditta Ek Point’ Reel Amid Threats

Shresta Iyer removed the viral reel following intense backlash from fans. She shared that the video also led to several threatening messages. The 28-year-old clarified that she did not delete the post out of guilt or because she believed she had made a mistake, but rather to reduce the growing negativity online.

Shresta wrote on her Instagram story:

“I’ve decided to take down my recent video as it seems it was misunderstood by some. It was meant to be light-hearted banter, but I respect that not everyone saw it that way. However, it’s been quite upsetting to receive not just negativity, but also a few threat messages over it.”

“That’s something I didn’t expect, especially for something that was never intended to harm anyone. I’m not removing the video because I believe I did something wrong, but because I respect my brother and his team, and I don’t want this space to turn into one filled with negativity… Let’s try to be a little kinder and more understanding with each other.”
