Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been sidelined for the rest of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to an injury. The 22-year-old featured in the playing XI for the last two Tests, stepping in for Shardul Thakur as the pace-bowling all-rounder.

As per a report by the Times of India, Reddy did travel with the team to Manchester but skipped the optional closed-door training session. His injury is likely to keep him out for the remainder of the series.

“It is understood that the all-rounder travelled with the team to Manchester but didn’t take any part in optional training session at Old Trafford,” the Times of India report read.

Nitish Kumar Reddy previously suffered an injury just before the 2024 tour of Zimbabwe, leading to fellow all-rounder Shivam Dube stepping in as a late replacement. He later made his T20I debut a few months afterwards during the home series against Bangladesh.

Team India is currently dealing with a significant injury crisis as the England series reaches its crucial phase. Fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep have both been ruled out of the upcoming fourth Test in Manchester, prompting the team management to name Anshul Kamboj as their replacement.

Nitish Kumar Reddy Impresses With All-Round Show In England Test Series

After missing out on selection for the series opener at Headingley, Leeds, Nitish Kumar Reddy had a disappointing start to his Test career. In the second Test at the same venue, he managed just two runs across both innings and went wicketless in his six-over spell.

However, he bounced back strongly in the third Test at Lord’s, making a significant impact on Day 1 by removing Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley. He contributed a useful 30 runs in the first innings and added a determined 13 in the final innings before getting out just before Lunch on Day 5.
