Marnus Labuschagne was constantly in the ears of Shubman Gill just before tea on day 2 of the SCG Test between India and Australia. Gill was once again looking classy as an opener so short leg fielder Labuschagne decided to unsettle him. The Australian was having fun with Gill has he teased him with a cheeky sledge.

The Australian team is aware that Shubman Gill is highly rated in India. The talented batsman is often praised and compared to Tendulkar and Kohli. While fielding near to Gill, Labuschagne decided to ask him his favourite player between Tendulkar and Kohli. Gill was clever and told him that he will save his answer and tell him after the match.

“Who’s your favourite player?” Asked Labuschagne between deliveries of Starc’s second over.

“I will tell you after the match,” replied Gill.

“After the ball… Sachin? Do you reckon Virat?” asked Labuschagne again.

Meanwhile, Australia knows that they are slightly behind in the match and trying every trick to dismiss the Indian batsmen. Labuschagne is always one of the most talkative Aussie players as he again showcased his sledging skills and tried to get under the skins of Shubman Gill. The Indian youngster was however unfazed with the banter and still batting and looking comfortable at the crease.

The legendary Australia batsman came back to form at the right time and played yet another crucial knock under pressure. Smith was the last man dismissed 131 courtesy off a jaw-dropping run-out by Ravindra Jadeja.

Furthermore, India is currently 84 for 1 in their innings with Gill and Pujara at the crease. Rohit Sharma is the only man dismissed as he was caught by Hazelwood on 26 runs. Gill just notched up his maiden Test half-century and is leading the charge with the bat for India.
