Matt Henry May Miss Out On IND vs NZ Final Clash In CT 2025: Reports

Matt Henry

Ahead of the final clash of Champions Trophy (CT) 2025, there are injury concerns looming over New Zealand’s final 11. Matt Henry, one of the key and experienced Kiwi fast-bowlers is injured. This injury took place when he was fielding at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, playing the semi-final match against South Africa. Going in for a catch, Henry hurt his right shoulders.

Muffadal Vohra, in a tweet/post on social media platform X said that there’s no clarity over the availability of Matt Henry for the finals between IND vs NZ. This would be a major loss for New Zealand as Henry is going pretty well in the tournment.

Henry is the Leading Wicket Taker of CT 2025

Matt Henry is the leading wicket taker in the Champions Trophy 2025. He has 10 wickets under his name and that means he is in form, and very important for New Zealand if they want to win the finals. The second leading wicket taker of the tournament is Mohammed Shami with 8 wickets under his name.

Henry was walked off the field by the physio when he was injured during the game. But he did come back to bowl two more overs where he got the wicket of Kagiso Rabada, a South African cricketer known for his pace on the ball.

There is still one more day to go for the finals. If Henry could recover by then, it would be a positive thing for the Kiwis. Otherwise, they will have to find a new combination against a well set and very threatening Indian team. India is on a roll and hasn’t lost a single match in the last several ODIs (One Day Internationals) they have played. New Zealand cricket fans will certainly hope that Henry makes it to the squad. IND vs NZ will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
