Matthew Wade was the best Australian batsman on show in the second Test. The gritty opening batsman of Australia batted extremely well in both innings of the match. Unfortunately, he got very little support at the other end as the Indian bowlers showed their might and bowled out the hosts cheaply.

The series is now levelled at 1-1 and the mind games from Australia have begun. Although Wade is an exception as he has heaped praises on Team India. Wade believes that the visitors adapted better to the conditions at MCG and completely outplayed Australia.

The track at MCG offered a bit of turn and reverse swing which assisted the Indian bowlers. Wade lauded the bowling of India and said that the bowlers adapted quicker as compared to their side. He also backed Steve Smith to find his form back against seasoned off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

“I think they have bowled terrifically well, especially in Melbourne there was more spin and bounce, we did not expect it to come into play as it did, we did not adapt quick enough to that wicket, Steve has played against Ashwin plenty of times before this, Smith has been successful over here and I am sure he will be fine, no problems at all”, Wade told ANI during a virtual press conference.

Meanwhile, when it came to picking the most difficult Indian bowlers, Wade had an interesting answer. He stayed away from naming star speedster Jasprit Bumrah and picked the spin duo of team India. Wade picked the combo of Jadeja and Ashwin as the dangerman with the ball and holds that his side needs to up their game against them.
