Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal will be keen to hit strides in the Kings XI Punjab colours as he looks to make a place in India’s limited-overs setup. The cricketer from Karnataka had a decent outing in the last season amassing 332 runs from 13 games at a strike rate of over 140.
The youngster will have to be in his best of form as the KL Rahul-led side look to lift their first IPL trophy. Incidentally, Kings XI had a decent run in 2014 when the first phase of IPL took place in the UAE.
Glenn Maxwell had a terrific run in the UAE and the management will hope the Aussie to keep up the excellent run. Mayank is likely to pair up with his friend and longtime teammate Rahul to give Punjab a steady start and set the tone for the tournament.
