Mayank Agarwal replaces Shikhar Dhawan in Indian ODI squad

Mayank Agarwal has now been inlcuded as a part of the Indian ODI sqaud against West Indies. He is all set to replace Dhawan , who is still battling a knee injury. Though Dhawan was expected to return for the series , situations exacerbated.

It is to be noted that this sin”t the maiden call-up for Mayank. He was also called as a back-up for Vijay Shankar in the ICC World Cup 2019. However , situations didn”t demand him as his mate KL Rahul was already taking care of the opening formalities alongside Rohit.

It will be interesting if Mayank will make his debut in the limited overs format. The series will commence this sunday and spans over a week. The games will be played at Chennai , Vishakapatnam and Cuttack.

Mayank”s recent success

His success in domestic formats earned him the test spot . He has been one of the consistent performers for India in the longest format since his debut last december. Now , all eyes on him and his ODI call-up.

Will he continue to reign if given an opportunity in playing XI? We will have to wait and see.
