India A avenged their defeat to crush the hosts England Lions by 102 runs in the 4th match of Tri-series played at Grace Road, Leicester. Winning the toss, India A batted first. Mayank Agarwal century, Shubman, Hanuma Vihari and Deepak Hooda contributions helped visitors post a massive target. Chasing the target of 310, England Lions were short of the target.
India A captain Sheryas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill gave the team a flying start scoring 60 runs in the first 10 overs. After the power play overs, both batsmen continued their aggressive intent.
Mayank Agarwal continued the brilliant form that he displayed in yesterday’s match against West Indies A. The highest run-getter in 2017/18 domestic season, reached his half-century off 43 balls. Shubman Gill showed aggressive intent and too reached his 50 off 52 balls.
Both batsmen attacked the England Lions bowlers. Shubman Gill was dismissed for 72 runs ending a brilliant 165 run stand in 28.2 overs. Mayank Agarwal reached his 2nd successive century off 98 balls and was dismissed for 112. India A lost wickets of Rishabh Pant and captain Sheryas Iyer.
Hanuma Vihari and Deepak Hooda steadied the innings with a 77 runs stand for the 5th wicket. Vihari took charge reaching his half-century off 51 balls while Deepak Hooda played a quickfire cameo scoring 33 off 27 balls. Both Vihari and Hooda were dismissed in the last over. India A posted a massive total of 309 for 6. For England Lions, MD Fisher and Barnard picked 2 wickets each.
Chasing 310 to win, Gubbins and Kohler-Cadmore started on a positive note adding 26 runs in 4.4 over’s. Shardul Thakur took the wickets of Gubbins for 22 and Kohler- Cadmore for 7. Prasidh Krishna got the 3rd wicket dismissing SR Hain for 1. At the end of 10 overs, England Lions scored 45 for 3.
Livingstone and BT Foakes steadied the innings putting on 43 runs for the 4th wicket. Krunal Pandya dismissed Livingstone for 23. England Lions captain Mullaney and Foakes added 39 runs for the 5th wicket before Mullaney and Foakes were dismissed in quick succession. The India A bowlers picked up regular wickets, not allowing England Lions batsmen to score runs easily.
India A bowled out England Lions for 207 and registered a massive win by 102 runs. For India A Shardul Thakur picked 3 wickets, Khaleel Ahmed 2, Prasidh Krishna, Krunal Pandya, K Gowtham and Deepak Hooda took 1 wicket each,1 run out.
England Lions batsmen got starts but were not able to convert into big ones. Liam Dawson was the top scorer with 38.

India A will play its last league match of the tournament against West Indies on 29th June at Northampton.
