Kings XI Punjab won the match against Chennai Super Kings by four runs at Mohali, thanks to the big man from windies who marked his arrival in style.

To everyone”s surprise, Marcus Stoinis was as dropped and the “Universe Boss” Chris Gayle was included in the playing XI. Kings XI is the third team for the boss as he represented Kolkata and Bangalore franchise in the past.

It is to be noted that Gayle has hit five centuries in IPL with five of them coming for the  Royal Challengers.The franchise didn”t show any interest in retaining him and Gayle was unsold on the first day of auctions. On the final session of the second day, he was bought by Kings XI franchise for his base price of two crores.

A recent video of Gayle doing pull-ups at a gym in his hotel at Mohali is going viral. The universe Boss is known for maintaining his fitness levels at peak irrespective of his age factor. His Instagram stories also included his yoga training as well as strength training.The video was posted yesterday and recorded over 2 lakh views with 51k likes.

Gayle who played a marathon knock of 63 of just 33 deliveries against Chennai super Kings announced his return in style by dealing balls with boundaries rather running between the wickets. In the post-match presentation, he said that he still feels 25 and his enthusiasm to play the game hasn”t reduced.

Gayle, who already announced that 2019 will be his final year in the International cricket will try to make his opportunities count for the next one year and replicate his “fear factor” for the oppositions.

Kings XI Punjab will play their next match at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad who is undefeated in this season so far. The match will be played on April 19, 8 pm.
