Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has said that India will be in deep trouble without Virat Kohli in the last three tests. Kohli scored 74 in the first innings as it was due to his knock primarily that India scored close to 250. However, he was dismissed via a run-out with his deputy Ajinkya Rahane, who himself scored a fluent 42 off 92 balls.

Meanwhile, Clarke also kept his opinion as to how the first day of the Pink-Ball test panned out in Adelaide. Talking to Sky Sports, Clarke said that Virat Kohli would have been fuming to get out in the manner which he did after looking set for a century.

“He will be fuming he didn’t make 100.He was the pick of the batters and he was the only one that wanted to score runs, everyone else wanted to block it. This has been my concern with India from the start” Clarke said on Sky Sports.

Ricky Ponting further criticised the attitude with which the Indian batters batted in the first innings. India ended day 1 on 233 for 6 and lost their last four wickets on day 2 adding just 10 runs to their overnight score.

“Their attitude is – see this new ball off. I’ve said it before, against Australia in Australia you will get one with your name on it. You’ll get a good ball. You’ll nick it and you’ll be out, all of a sudden you’ll lose two in a row and put your team under so much pressure,” said Clarke.

Michael Clarke on Virat Kohli

Michael Clarke concluded by saying that India will be in deep trouble without their skipper Virat Kohli. Ajinkya Rahane will replace him as the leader of the side for the last three games.

“Can you imagine this Indian batting line-up without Virat Kohli for the next two Test matches? They are in deep trouble. At stages, it was very hard to watch,” he concluded saying.
