Mike Hesson replaces Brad Hodge as head coach of Kings XI Punjab

Former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson has been appointed the coach for Kings XI Punjab for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.

While several franchises are busy in IPL trading, Punjab has made this new announcement and it will be interesting how Hesson will groom them to win their maiden IPL title. Yesterday, it was announced that the franchise has traded Marcus Stoinis to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Mandeep Singh. These might be few positive signs for the side who had a disappointing second-half in this season.

Kings XI Punjab trade Stoinis for Mandeep Singh with Royal Challengers Bangalore

This news has been released in their official social media handles. Hesson was one of the primary reasons behind New Zealand”s success across all the formats in the past few years. If the franchise can formulate a strong XI, then they will eye for the title and definitely one of the strong contenders for the same.

This means that Brad Hodge is now kept aside and there is no further information if he was approached by some other teams. It is to be noted that Hesson was a part of the group of analysts in the star sports media during the last season.

Can Ash-Hesson combo tick the boxes this year? Will Miller be a permanent member of the squad?  Can Mayank Agarwal announce his readiness strongly? Many questions in the bag for Kings XI as they head to another season.
