Mitchell Starc, the Australian pace bowler, has commended Shubman Gill on his batting in the English conditions. Being so amazed by Gill’s heroics against the England team led by Ben Stokes, Starc joked that he would not bowl to the 25-year-old in England.

The record Gill has been enjoying is also exceptional, as he has accumulated runs in the first two encounters against England. His performance in the number four has been remarkable, which helped India tie the series 1-1 with a wondrous victory in Edgbaston.

With Gill as the new test captain of India, he has to take the team to the next match. From his physical appearance and qualities as a leader, Gill is likely to leave a big impression in the series. His batting skill and tactical mind will play a pivotal role in deciding how India will perform against England.

“I wouldn’t bowl to him in England”- Mitchell Starc

The Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has provided a review of batting of Shubman Gill in English conditions. Speaking about the recent performance of the Indian test captain against the Ben Stokes-led team; the veteran Aussie said that he would not bowl at the 25 year old in England, having seen what he did with his bat.

Mitchel Starc recently analyzed the scorching performance by Shubman Gill against England and stated that he will not bowl to the young cricketer in English conditions.

“I wouldn’t bowl to him in England, that’s for sure. You just put a bowling machine there. I didn’t see much of the game at all. I saw the scorecards, and there were a few guys that were waking up, particularly Marnus and Alex Carey and Steve Smith, who would sit around a coffee machine and watch the game. I did see the scores. Jeez, who would be a kid in England and want to bowl on some of those wickets?” Mitchell Starc said during an appearance on the Willow Talk Podcast.

In a recent Test match, Shubman Gill produced one of his best performances in the Indian Cricket Team. The 25-year-old has been phenomenal with bat in hand even though he carries the burden of captaincy. Gill has 585 runs against his name in four innings he has played in Team India with a strike rate of 73.
