Former Team India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has launched a scathed attack on the Indian selection panel headed by Sunil Joshi for not considering veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the limited-overs series against Australia. Although a regular member in the Tests; Ashwin has been kept away from the white-ball side since the rise of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

He last played white-ball cricket for India in 2017 during the West Indies tour. Following the tour, he along with his spin partner Ravindra Jadeja were dropped from the ODI and T20I squads. While it was stated that the selectors are rotating the players; but since then, Ravichandran Ashwin has not played any limited-overs cricket.
