Mohammad Nabi returns to Melbourne Renegades for yet another season of BBL. He will continue to play for the side in 2020-21. This will be the Afghanistan all-rounder’s fourth season with the club. He will join the squad in Australia after his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020.
Melbourne Renegades coach Michael Klinger is happy to have the services of Nabi for yet another season in the BBL. He said the Afghanistan all-rounder’s versatility makes him a valuable player in the side.
Mohammad Nabi To Continue Playing For Melbourne Renegades
The Melbourne Renegades were the champions of BBL 08 in the 2018-19 season and Mohammad Nabi was a part of the winning squad. Nabi has played 27 games for Renegades, averaging 30 with a strike-rate of 131 along with 21 wickets with the ball.
“Nabi’s versatility makes him a very valuable member of our team. He can bat and bowl in a number of different situations and he reads the game so well.We’ll again be looking for Nabi to play a key role in our middle order and he’ll be called upon to bowl some important overs,” said Klinger.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Nabi also shared his excitement on rejoining the squad. The all-rounder from Afghanistan said that he has enjoyed his time with Melbourne and wants to make more memories with his teammates.
“I have always enjoyed my time with the Renegades and testing myself against some of the best T20 players in the world in the Big Bash. I’m very pleased to have re-signed for a fourth season,” Nabi said.

Meanwhile, his IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad is having a tough time in the competition so far. They have lost six games in the tournament so far and are placed seventh in the points table with six points from nine games. Mohammad Nabi has played just one game for the side so far in the IPL scoring 11 runs with the bat.
Nabi has been primarily kept on the sidelines to fit in Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson in the playing XI. Williamson has been handy with the bat for the side so far. He has scored 181 runs from seven matches averaging 36.20 this season and striking at nearly 146.
