Mohammad Rizwan And Liam Livingstone Make Big Jump In ICC Men’s T20I Rankings

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and English batter Liam Livingstone have made a huge jump in ICC rankings. The former was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan in the recent T20I series against England. Also, Livingstone was the highest run-getter for England in the same series. Notably, England won the T20I series by 2-1 against Pakistan.

29-year-old achieved a career-best ranking of #7 after scoring 176 runs in the series. Also, Rizwan was the top performer in the series decider as he scored 76 runs in the final T20I at Manchester. Opener Rizwan had entered the top 10 for the first time in his career. He has been consistently performing well for the national side.

Liam Livingstone has reached to 27th position after participating in just eight T20Is since his debut. Notably, Livingstone hit a marvelous century against Pakistan in the recent series. In the first match, he smashed 103 runs off 43 balls. He finished the series with a total of 147 runs in his name.

Evin Lewis moves eight spots in ICC T20I Rankings

The newly updated ICC men’s rankings included the performances of the last two T20I matches between the West Indies and Australia. Also, it included the first match between Ireland and South Africa. Meanwhile West Indies explosive opener Evin Lewis has moved up to the eighth spot after a fantabulous 79 off 31 inning. Notably, previously Lewis was ranked at #10 in the rankings.

Several other batsmen climbed up the charts. South African Aiden Markram jumped four places to reach the 15th spot. England opener Jason Roy advanced to 17th place. Also Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh jumped 46 places to reach the 37th spot. West Indies batsmen Lendl Simmons climbed 13 spots to reach 51th place and Nicholas Pooran is ranked 63 which is 16 places up from his previous rankings. From the Ireland team, Harry Tector of Ireland climbed 11 places to reach 83rd rank.

On the bowling side of things, there were several changes seen. Young Pakistani left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has advanced to the 13th position. Afridi picked 4 wickets in the recent England series. Also from the Pakistan side, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Hasnain, have reached 36th and 41st place respectively.

Also West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell is currently in 16th place and Hayden Walsh is now ranked 34. English pacers David Willey and Tom Curran jumped 3 and 18 places to hold the joint-49th position.

The latest MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings include the three-match series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, third Ireland vs South Africa match, and the first two ODIs between Sri Lanka and India.

Opener Quinton de Kock advanced one place to reach the 10th position. Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan gained two places to reach the 16th spot. Also, Dhawan performed amazingly in the first match, he scored an unbeaten 86 runs for the team. Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal’s hundred helped him to reach the 23rd spot in rankings.

Meanwhile, Australian Alex Carey reached the 27th spot in the rankings. Also Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan climbed to 28th place. Also, Shakib saw a rise in bowling rankings after his five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe. He climbed 9 places to reach the 8th spot. Sri Lankan batsman Avishka Fernando reached 68th position and South African Janneman Malan is now ranked 71st in ODIs.

On the bowling side, leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed the number 20 spot, Sri Lankan Wanindu Hasaranga reached 36th place in rankings, South African star bowler Tabraiz Shamsi also jumped 8 spots to reach 39th position. Adding to it Ireland’s Simi Singh gained 6 spots to reach 51st place. Zimbabwean Muzarabani also climbed 23 places to get the 70th place.
