Kings Xi Punjab all-rounder Glenn Maxwell thinks speedster Mohammed Shami has the best yorker in the IPL competition as of now. This statement coming in the back of Mohammed Shami’s sublime bowling performance in the double super over match against Mumbai Indians where Mohammed Shami nailed each and every delivery he bowled in the super over.
When Kings XI Punjab last faced Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium where the match went into a double super over. It looked like Punjab are lacking a bowler to bowl in the super over but Mohammed Shami came in with the pace deliveries and ensured he defends the target of 6 runs against quality batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock.
Earlier in the season, former India opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar also went on to praise Mohammed Shami’s bowling in this season. He particularly praised the bouncer Mohammed Shami as for him the UP born has the best bouncer in World cricket as of now.

Recently Maxwell appeared in a video on Kings XI Punjab’s social media channel where he explicitly spoke about how Mohammed Shami has the best yorker in the competition. He went on to praise Shami’s bowling performance in the double super over the game against Mumbai Indians.
“Shami, he is probably the best yorker bowler in the competition at the moment, the way he’s executing under pressure, we all saw the way he defended that Super Over last game against Mumbai,” said Maxwell in a video posted on the official Twitter handle of KXIP.
Glenn Maxwell added how Mohammed Shami has been exceptional for the Kings XI Punjab franchise this season. He also spoke about how it was a good thing that Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal didn’t take the 2nd over till the last over and instead finished it beforehand itself to take their side to a victory.
“He has been exceptional for us, he kept it to a score that we all thought was maybe 10 or 15 below par so hats off to him. He has been outstanding for us, It was good that we did not take the match till the last over and got it done with six balls to spare. It’s a great thing for the entire team,” said Maxwell.
