According to a report Mohammed Shami is ruled out of the Test series against Australia after coping a nasty blow on his arm while batting. Shami who was in the middle of a fiery spell from Pat Cummins was struck by a vicious short delivery with India 9 down.

The ball was bowled at over 140 clicks and Shami was late in swaying out of the way. Shami looked immediately in extreme pain after getting hit and was seen holding his right arm. The Indian physio rushed onto the field to examine the premier Indian fast bowler. Shami wisely decided to not bat again and was retired hurt with India 36 for 9. The fast bowler didn’t take any further part in the match and went for a mandatory scan on his arm.

Mohammed Shami Ruled Out Of The Test Series

“No news on Shami, he’s going for a scan now. He was in a lot of pain, couldn’t even lift his arm. We’ll probably know in the evening what happens”, captain Virat Kohli revealed after team India lost by 8 wickets.

Now according to an India Today report, Shami will take no further part in the last 3 Tests against Australia. The scans reports of Shami have confirmed that he has fractured his arm and will not be playing the rest of the series. This is a massive blow for team India who depends heavily on Shami with the ball on away tours.

Meanwhile, Shami wasn’t even required to ball during the second innings as Australia chased down the total of 90 runs in just 21 overs. It was an embarrassing day for team India as they registered their lowest ever score in Test history. They have a lot of souls searching to do before the second test which kicks off from 26 December at Melbourne.
