Mohammed Shami took a nasty blow to his arm courtesy off a well-directed short ball by Pat Cummins in the pink ball test.. Before the start of the day, Shami would have never imagined about batting in the first session of day 3. Unfortunately, it ended being a session of hell for all India batsmen as Australian fast bowlers were unplayable.
It proved to be an embarrassing session that team India and their fans will never forget. It got worse when Mohammed Shami received a nasty blow on his arm while trying to duck under a short pitch ball. Cummins bowled that over 140 click and Shami was late to get out of the way. Eventually, Shami was struck severely and the Indian physio rushed onto the field to check on the Indian fast bowler.
Mohammed Shami Suffers Injury Scare
Shami after receiving treatment decided not to continue batting and was retired hurt. India ended their innings at 36 for 9 which is now there lowest ever total in Test cricket history. The Aussie fast bowlers were implacable in the significant afternoon session as Indian batting again crumbled under pressure.
Coming back to Mohammed Shami, after getting hit by the delivery he looked in pain and decided to not take any further risks while batting. The team management will keep their fingers crossed and hope that their strike fast bowler recovers for the last three test matches against Australia.

Meanwhile, Australia is currently chasing a modest target of 90 runs after India could only score 36 runs in their second innings. The match was nicely poised after the end of day 2 and Indian batsmen were expected to put up a fight on Day 3. Unfortunately the unthinkable happened as Australia bowlers completely exposed their technique against the moving ball and made the test one side.
Josh Hazelwood picked 5 wickets whereas Pat Cummins picked 4 including the prized scalp of Indian captain Virat Kohli.
