Gujarat Titansβ (GT) fast bowler Mohammed Siraj shared his feelings about facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after winning the Player of the Match award on Wednesday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The 31-year-old admitted feeling emotional before the game but said he settled in once he got the ball in hand.
Siraj was part of RCB from 2018 to 2024, but the franchise chose not to retain him ahead of the auction for the 18th edition of the IPL. During his tenure, he played 87 matches, taking 83 wickets at an average of 31.44, and was instrumental in RCBβs playoff runs in 2021 and 2024. However, he has proven to be a valuable acquisition for the Titans, who secured him for βΉ12.25 crore in the auction.

Mohammed Siraj, who delivered an impressive spell of 4-0-19-3, attributed his performance to the break he had, which allowed him to refine his skills and improve his fitness. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said:
βI was a bit emotional. I was here for 7 years, changed jersery from red to blue and was emotional but once I got the ball I was fine. I am Ronaldoβs fan and hence the celebration.β
βI had been playing consistently, but during the break I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness. Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He tells me to go enjoy your bowling and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief and then the pitch does not matter.β
Jos Buttler shines with the bat following Mohammed Sirajβs brilliance
Chasing a target of 170, the Titans suffered an early setback as Shubman Gill fell for just 14. However, Jos Buttler and B Sai Sudharsan remained composed under pressure. Their partnership of 75 runs was broken when Josh Hazlewood dismissed Sai Sudharsan for 49.
Despite the setback, Buttler kept up the attack, reaching his half-century in just 31 balls with a six in the 15th over. The Englishman remained unbeaten on 73*, guiding the Titans to a commanding eight-wicket victory with 13 balls to spare. This defeat also marked RCBβs first loss of IPL 2025.
