Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has sparked rumors about his love life after a viral video showed him with a mystery woman during the Champions Trophy 2025. In the video, an anchor asked Dhawan about his relationship status and the name of his girlfriend. Initially hesitant, Dhawan eventually responded, “I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend.”
The camera then focused on a woman resembling the person seen with him at the tournament. Reports suggest that she is Sophie Shine from Ireland, although Dhawan has not confirmed her identity. The video has gained widespread attention, with fans reacting to his subtle confirmation in a lighthearted manner.
Dhawan’s Struggles to Stay Connected with His Son
Apart from his personal life, Shikhar Dhawan has also spoken openly about his emotional struggle of being separated from his 11-year-old son, Zoraver. Following his divorce from Aesha Mukherji in October 2023, Dhawan lost custody of his son.
Although he was granted visitation rights, he claims that he has been blocked from contacting Zoraver, making the separation even more painful. In a conversation on the ANI podcast, Dhawan shared that he has not seen his son for two years and has not spoken to him for one year. Despite this, he tries to stay connected with him in a spiritual way.
Dhawan revealed that he practices affirmations and visualizations to feel close to Zoraver. “I manifest that I am with him, speaking to him, hugging him. My sadness won’t help, so I channel my energy spiritually,” he explained.
He believes that through meditation and visualization, he can experience a connection with his son, even though they are apart.
Emotional Words on Reuniting with His Son
When asked what he would do if he met Zoraver again, Dhawan became emotional. Rather than showing his son cricket highlights, he said his priority would be to spend time with him and listen to what he has to say. “I would first hug him, talk to him, and understand his feelings. If he tears up, I’ll cry with him,” he shared.
Dhawan emphasized that his focus would be on making up for lost time rather than showcasing his cricketing achievements. His heartfelt words have resonated with many, highlighting the deep bond between a father and his son despite the physical distance between them.
