The 39-year-old James Anderson is just getting better with time. The England pacer continues to dominate batsmen with his amazing swing deliveries. Also, the senior pacer has been seen leading the charge of England pace battery in the Test series against India. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag believes a batsman needs divine support to play against the English pacer.

James Anderson looked in great form in the first Test against India at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Notably, he bagged a four-wicket haul in the first innings. However, the match was washed out and he didn’t get much opportunity to bowl in the second innings. Meanwhile, when he came to Lord’s, he once against shined as he managed to get a 5 wicket haul under his belt to stop India at the score of 364.

Indian batsman looked really uncomfortable against the 39-year-old. Meanwhile, during a discussion on Sony Sports, Virender Sehwag said in a light-hearted manner that batters need to pray that Anderson misses his line and length. He explained:

“Move forward, put your bat and say Jai Bajrang Bali. Just pray that it somehow misses because of the spot at which he bowls, there is only one fear, not about the ball going away but if the ball comes in, you will be LBW or bowled because you cannot leave the delivery.”

“He has two pet customers, Pujara is there but this time Ajinkya Rahane got trapped” – Virender Sehwag

India’s big three have been continuously failing to deliver good performance for India in Test. Indian captain Virat Kohli, Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, and Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara are not having a great run lately. In the first match, first inning Virat Kohli scored 0, Ajinkya Rahane scored 5 and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 4. Meanwhile, in the second game, Kohli scored 42, However, Pujara scored 9 and Rahane scored 1.

Sehwag talked about how Indian Vice Captain Ajinkya Rahane fell into the trap of James Anderson. Sehwag asserted:

“He bowled amazingly well. He has two pet customers, Pujara is there but this time Ajinkya Rahane got trapped, Kohli did not get trapped but otherwise when he bowls near the off-stump to these two players, it seems he will definitely get them out.”

When day 2 of Lord’s Test ended England was at 119/3. England was trailing by 245 runs with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow on the crease.
