MS Dhoni Could Play T10 Cricket, Says T Ten Global Sports Chairman

T Ten Global Sports Founder and Chairman, Shaji Ul Malk, recently revealed the possibility of seeing MS Dhoni in the T10 format. This speculation arises amid uncertainty about Dhoni’s participation in the IPL 2025 season.

The IPL Governing Council has reinstated a rule that allows Dhoni to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an uncapped player. This would help him extend his IPL career and allow CSK more financial flexibility to build their squad. However, Dhoni has yet to confirm his participation, keeping fans and cricket pundits guessing about his future.

Dhoni’s Fitness and Retirement Speculations

At 43, MS Dhoni is still considered one of the fittest cricketers, with his reflexes showing no significant decline. However, he has been battling a knee injury for some time, raising questions about how long he can continue at the highest level.

While his retirement from the IPL is anticipated, Dhoni has not made any announcements, fueling rumors about his next move. Shaji Ul Malk mentioned that Dhoni could transition to T10 cricket after his IPL career, joining the ranks of other retired Indian cricketers who have already made the switch.

Indian Cricketers in T10 Cricket

Several retired Indian cricketers, including Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan, have already participated in T10 cricket. The format, known for its fast-paced and entertaining style, is gaining global popularity. The upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 2024 season will feature players from 11 countries, with teams from nations like the UAE, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan competing.

According to Abu Dhabi Cricket CEO Matthew Boucher, the T10 format is expanding rapidly, and many cricket enthusiasts are eager to see Dhoni participate in this format once he retires from the IPL.
