Indian cricket icon MS Dhoni recently met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who shared a couple of photos from the interaction on his official X handle. The Chennai Super Kings stalwart was seen posing alongside Soren and his wife, Kalpana Murmu Soren. Dhoni was also spotted in Delhi not long ago.

Even after stepping away from international cricket in August 2020, Dhoni continues to be one of the most celebrated personalities in the game. While the 44-year-old has faced challenges in recent IPL seasons, his presence alone is enough to draw massive crowds.

On the international stage, the wicketkeeper-batter led India to historic victories in the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and Champions Trophy, making him the only captain to win all three major ICC white-ball titles. Over the course of his illustrious career, he represented India in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20Is.

Here’s Hemant Soren’s post, calling him “Mahi”:

माही से अचानक मिलना हुआ” (I met Mahi suddenly)

“No Hurry”- MS Dhoni on his IPL plans

MS Dhoni, who took over the captaincy of CSK in the latter half of IPL 2025 following Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury, reflected on his future after the team’s final match. The seasoned campaigner acknowledged that preparing for each season now requires greater effort.

Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, he said:

“It depends. Again, I would say the same thing: I have four-five months to decide, there’s no hurry to decide what needs to be done. Every year, it’s 15% more effort to keep the body fit – not to forget this is top-level cricket.”

”It’s professional cricket – you have to be at your best – and it’s not always performance that you can count, because if cricketers start retiring because of performance then a few of them will retire when they’re 22.”

“What is important to see is how much hunger you have, what kind of fitness you have, and how much you can contribute to the team, and whether the team needs you or not. So I have enough time. I will go back to Ranchi – haven’t been home for a long time – enjoy a few bike rides, [take a] couple of months and then decide.”
