Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was training with a bat with a sticker of the name of the shop of his childhood friend ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League. Several pictures and photos from his training session went viral on social media.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has started the preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. He will be leading the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the tournament. Photos and videos from Dhoni’s practice session are being shared widely on social media. He was training with a bat sticker which read, ‘Prime Sports’. The sticker is of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s childhood friend’s sports goods shop, decoded by some of the fans.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has often spoken about the support that he received from his childhood friends during his initial days as a cricketer. This has also been depicted in the 2016 biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. One of his friends helped him with a bat sponsor during his early days.

Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be leading the Chennai Super Kings in the 2024 Indian Premier League. He led the franchise to their title win last season, their fifth in the tournament’s history. The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Gujarat Titans in the finals, and now have the joint-most Indian Premier League titles.

MS Dhoni underwent knee surgery last year and seems to have fully recovered. He confirmed that he will return to play for the franchise in the upcoming season. There were speculations that 2023 was the former Indian captain’s last Indian Premier League season. The wicket-keeper batter has played 250 matches in the tournament. He has scored 5082 runs at an average of 38.79, with 24 fifties. He has also taken 142 catches and 42 stumpings for the Chennai Super Kings.
