The former India skipper MS Dhoni has been the talking point of the town ever since he went on a sabbatical after India’s defeat to New Zealand in the rain-marred semifinal in the ICC World Cup last year. Since then, the speculations over Dhoni’s retirement is on an all-time high.
Many anticipated that the veteran wicket-keeper will make a comeback on the back of the Indian Premier League. In a bid to get the rhythm back, MS Dhoni also began his training a month ahead of the commencement of the league at the MA Chidambaram Stadium alongside Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla among others.

But with IPL 2020 postponed for an indefinite period amid coronavirus pandemic, the return of MS Dhoni in international cricket also looks bleak. While many have opined that it journey looks all but over, Dhoni’s longtime friend Suresh Raina believes the legendary cricketer still has a lot of cricket in him.
“He was batting really well. Cricket is still left in him. He has looked innovative. We played practice games and those sixes are as big as they were. Three hours of batting in the evening, that too, in Chennai heat is not easy and we did that (during the camp). If you ask me, Mahi bhai is batting brilliantly,” Raina said in an Instagram Live session.

Furthermore, Suresh Raina added that there is no sign of ageing on the 38-year-old cricketer and he was trying to do something different during the training session. With IPL postponed, the fans will now have to wait longer to see their favourite star – MS Dhoni return to action.
“His body is not showing signs of ageing. He was looking different and was trying to do something else, something different, new. So people will get to know when they see him,” said Raina who won the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s leadership.
