MS Dhoni's Unique Preparation for IPL 2025

MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, known for his calm demeanor and exceptional leadership, continues to be a global icon even after his retirement from international cricket in 2020. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting Dhoni’s return to competitive cricket with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

A Comeback worth Celebrating

Dhoni was retained by CSK ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, reaffirming the franchise’s faith in their legendary skipper. For fans, this signals yet another opportunity to witness his unmatched brilliance on the field. But for Dhoni, the road back to competitive cricket hasn’t been easy.

Staying Fit: A Tough but Rewarding Journey

At 43, Dhoni admits that maintaining peak fitness levels requires immense effort. Yet, his dedication to staying in shape has been nothing short of inspiring. Recently, Dhoni was spotted at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, playing a doubles tennis match.

The viral post showcasing him on the tennis court highlighted his commitment to staying active. Tennis, a sport he enjoys, has become an integral part of his fitness routine.

“I am not as fit as I used to be. A lot of effort now needs to be there on what you are eating and I am doing very specific things to be fit for cricket. We are not fast bowlers so our requirements are not that intense. So, what helps me in between eating the right thing and going to the gym, is playing a lot of sports,” MS Dhoni said during a chat with Eurogrip Tyres on YouTube, as per The Indian Express.

Tennis and Dhoni: A Bond beyond Cricket

Dhoni’s love for tennis isn’t new. He has often been seen indulging in the sport during the off-season. In December last year, he teamed up with professional tennis player Sumeet Kumar Bajaj to win a local tournament. The two even celebrated their victory with a trophy, showcasing Dhoni’s prowess on the court. For Dhoni, playing tennis is more than just a hobby; it’s a way to stay sharp and maintain his competitive edge.

Dhoni had attended the 2023 US Open and watched a quarterfinal fixture between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev from the stands.

A Legacy unlike Any Other

As Dhoni prepares for his 18th IPL season, it’s impossible not to reflect on his remarkable journey. Under his captaincy, CSK has won multiple IPL titles, solidifying their reputation as one of the most successful franchises. Dhoni’s ability to lead under pressure has inspired countless young cricketers worldwide.

Social media has been abuzz with excitement about Dhoni’s return. From Instagram reels to Twitter threads, fans have left no stone unturned in expressing their eagerness. The hashtag #DhoniReturns has been trending, a testament to the legendary cricketer’s enduring appeal.
