MSK Prasad Breaks His Silence On Ambati Rayudu’s World Cup Snub

All India National Selection Panel headed by MSK Prasad snubbing Ambati Rayudu from the ICC World Cup 2019 squad has been the most debated topic of 2019. The outgoing chairman of selector received severe criticisms from all quarters for mishandling Rayudu. Prasad has finally broken his silence on Rayudu's World Cup snub saying that he felt bad for him.

Despite grooming Ambati Rayudu for the No. 4 spot, the selectors excluded him from the World Cup squad. Instead, they picked three-dimensional Vijay Shankar for his ability to contribute to all the departments. Rayudu looked in scintillating touch averaging 41 leading to the mega event. As a result, his snubbing shocked many including many former cricketers.

Recently, in an interview with Sportstar, MSK Prasad expressed that Rayudu's case was a touching issue. Prasad also said that he feels bad for him; knowing him from close quarters.

"Unfortunately, I am also hurt at what happened to him (apparently referring to the 2019 World Cup selection when Rayudu was ignored) having played with him. I feel bad for him," Prasad said.

Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu had announced his retirement following the World Cup snub out of disappointment. However, the cricketer reverted his decision and made himself available for the Indian Premier League. But with age on the wrong side, it is unlikely that he will make a comeback on the national side.
