Former India chief selector MSK Prasad has faced severe criticisms during his tenure with the BCCI. During the end of his tenure, Prasad faced some difficult questions on former India skipper MS Dhoni. Notably, Dhoni has been on a sabbatical ever since India’s ouster from the World Cup losing to New Zealand in the rain-marred semifinal.
Ever since Dhoni’s retirement has been the topic of discussion across the length and breadth of the country. But the legendary wicket-keeper batsman has remained mum on the same. MS Dhoni was slated to return during the Indian Premier League (IPL), but with the tournament postponed, his return to international return looks bleak.

While Dhoni still floats in the mix for the T20 World Cup, MSK Prasad had revealed that they had moved on and is not thinking about the former India skipper. Recently, Prasad echoed the same lines and stated that they went ahead only after getting confirmation Dhoni.
“I am very very clear. I made it very very clear. We had a discussion and Mahi didn’t want to play for some time, so we moved on and then picked up Rishabh Pant and we’ve been backing him,” the 45-year-old said in an interview to Fancode.

Furthermore, MSK Prasad believes the situation has got more tricky with the emergence of KL Rahul. The Karnataka cricketer has cemented his berth ever since he donned the wicket-keeping gloves ahead of Rishabh Pant. Prasad feels IPL would have given MS Dhoni a chance to return for the T20 World Cup but with the cash-rich league postponed it looks gloomy.
“Now, that KL also has done extremely well in limited-overs that he played in NZ, so, it would’ve been nice had this IPL held and we would’ve seen Mahi’s old glimpses back but now it’s a tricky situation,” Prasad concluded.
