The Mumbai Indians are set to play host to the reigning champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, on 31 March 2025 at Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai has come off a disappointing loss at the hands of the Gujarat Titans, and Kolkata has secured a thumping victory over the Rajasthan Royals.
MIdid not seem to have gotten off to a very good start in the IPL for 2025, losing both the first two matches. After succumbing to Chennai Super Kings with a four-wicket margin, they then went under remarkable defeat to the Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya took 4/29, but Mumbai’s batters did not come up to the mark as the team lost by 36 runs.
On the other hand, Kolkata scores a good win over Rajasthan Royals just after its seven-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ajinkya Rahane’s men restricted Rajasthan to 151/9, with Varun Chakaravarthy taking 2/17. Kolkata won the match with 15 balls to spare, thanks to Quinton de Kock’s unbeaten 97 runs from 61 balls.

Who Will Win the Match?
While KKR had won their recent encounter with Rajasthan Royals, they have been tipped to lose this match against MI. Indeed, Mumbai Indians have an upper hand with a record of 23 wins in 34 matches against Kolkata Knight Riders. Added to the good batting surface at Wankhede and MI’s home advantage, one can only assume their victory. However, Kolkata’s Quinton de Kock is in good touch after scoring 97* against RR and could be tough for MI’s bowling line-up.
