Mushtaq Ahmed Heaps Praise On Former Indian Skipper MS Dhoni

Former India skipper MS Dhoni is one of the greatest India have ever produced. He has led the country to greater heights including winnings three ICC events. Dhoni has earned praise from all quarters for his leadership qualities and recently former Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed also joined the bandwagon.

Since taking over the job in 2007 in the aftermath of the ICC World Cup debacle, Dhoni has never looked back. He led a young bunch of cricketers to win the inaugural edition of ICC World T20 later that year in South Africa. He took India to the pinnacle spot in ICC Test Rankings.

MS Dhoni then went on to end India’s 28-year long wait to win the ICC World Cup in 2011 and then won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 apart from winning many more accolades for the country. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman is the only skipper in the history of the game to win three ICC titles.

Meanwhile, the change of captaincy baton has also been swift as Virat Kohli has kept up the excellent work. Recently, Pakistan legend Mushtaq Ahmed stressed how quality leaders helped India dominate all formats of the game for a long time now.

“India has become a force to reckon with in all three formats as it uses its bowlers really well. Dhoni was a master at getting the best out of his bowlers in limited-overs cricket and now you have Virat Kohli,” Ahmed told PTI during an interview.

Furthermore, Mushtaq Ahmed also spoke highly of Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The former Pakistan cricketer also had a piece of advice of the youngster to develop his game better and also urged India skipper Virat Kohli better.
