Under the leadership of Captain Babar Azam, the team received a resounding and warm reception upon their arrival at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on a Wednesday evening.

Former Pakistani cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed, in his comments to a local media outlet, hinted at the substantial Muslim population in cities like Ahmedabad and Hyderabad as a contributing factor to the overwhelming support witnessed at the airport.
He further said: “Ahmedabad and Hyderabad are such cities, where population of Muslims is quite high. That is why you see [support] at the airport,”

In preparation for the impending tournament, Pakistan is gearing up for a warm-up match against New Zealand scheduled for this Friday in Hyderabad. Subsequently, their second warm-up encounter is slated against Australia on October 3. These matches are pivotal in readying the team for the commencement of their World Cup campaign, commencing with a showdown against the Netherlands on October 6. Notably, all these matches will unfold at the same venue in Hyderabad.
Pakistan’s sojourn in Hyderabad will conclude with their second World Cup match against Sri Lanka on October 10, after which they will head to Ahmedabad for a highly anticipated clash against the host nation, India, scheduled for October 14.
