“My No. 4 Spot Is In Trouble” – Suryakumar Yadav Lauds Dinesh Karthik’s Knock Against SA During 3rd T20I

Suryakumar Yadav Dinesh Karthik

Team India batter Dinesh Karthik was in great touch against South Africa on Tuesday in the third and final T20I at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. He was the leading run-scorer for India in the innings, but could not get his team over the line. However, teammate Suryakumar Yadav was all praise for the wicket-keeper batter.

Dinesh Karthik came out to bat early for India in the second over, at number four. He took on the Proteas bowling, smashing four boundaries and as many sixes during his stay at the crease. Karthik was dismissed for 46 runs off 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 219.05.

After the conclusion of the third T20, Suryakumar Yadav spoke about Dinesh Karthik’s knock. He said,

“Not really, I didn’t check the stats. But I think that was the demand of the game. My friends send these things (stats and numbers) on WhatsApp, I don’t follow it. The thought process was the same, I just wanted to enjoy. I had to take a step back and build a partnership with him. Didn’t work today.”

“DK needed some game time, and I think the way he batted, my number 4 is in trouble. I haven’t thought much about it, but I am looking forward to it,” he added.
