“My Personal Doctor Was Shocked To Hear I Was Meeting Virat Kohli”- Australian PM Anthony Albanese

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli during the recently concluded two-day warm-up match between India and the Prime Minister’s XI. Sharing details about the interaction, Albanese revealed that his doctor is a huge fan of Kohli.

He mentioned that his doctor could hardly believe he would meet the Indian cricketer. Albanese also shared that Kohli presented him with a signed souvenir during their meeting. Speaking to *News 18*, the Australian PM said:

“My personal doctor is a Virat Kohli fan. Fan isn’t quite the word that explains how passionate he is. And he couldn’t believe that I was meeting Mr Kohli, as he called him. And I spoke to him and it was quite enough to give me something signed.”

Notably, Virat Kohli and other Indian players also had the opportunity to meet the Australian Prime Minister at Parliament House in Canberra before the two-day warm-up match.

Virat Kohli Did Not Participate in the Warm-Up Match Against PM XI

The two-day warm-up game between India and the Prime Minister’s XI was shortened to a 50-over-per-side match after rain washed out the first day. Kohli did not take part in the pink-ball contest. India won the toss and opted to field. Opener Sam Konstas shone for the Prime Minister’s XI with a brilliant 107, while Hanno Jacobs added a valuable 61. The hosts were bowled out for 240.

India won the toss and elected to field first. The Prime Minister’s XI opener, Sam Konstas, delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a magnificent 107 runs to anchor the innings. He received solid support from Hanno Jacobs, who contributed a crucial 61 runs.

Harshit Rana led the Indian bowling attack with a four-wicket haul. The visitors chased down the target in 46 overs, securing a five-wicket win. Shubman Gill, returning from a thumb injury, scored a composed 50 off 62 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 45 runs, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar added 42 each. Skipper Rohit Sharma, batting at No. 4, struggled to make an impact, scoring just three runs.
