Nathan Lyon is approaching a personal milestone when India takes on Australia in the final Test at The Gabba. The fourth and final Test will be Lyon’s 100th Test for his country as he enters an elite list of a few Australians to do so. He is looking forward to the moment at the venue as he looks to get a few wickets in the final game. Lyon has picked up six wickets from three games, which is nowhere close to the success he has had against India in Australia in the past. He took 23 wickets in 2014-15, 19 in 2016-17 and 21 in 2018-19 Test series against India.
However, he has a particularly good record at The Gabba which will give him the confidence to perform well in the final Test. It’s a wicket with extra bounce, which suits his style, having taken 35 wickets in nine Tests there. He requires four scalps to complete 400 wickets, a feat previously achieved by only five spinners in the history of Tests.
“I have that chance to reflect on because when I first made my Test debut, I was very grateful and humble to play one Test for Australia. But after completing the 99th one last week, I am looking forward to the 100th” said Lyon, addressing the media on Wednesday.

Happy With The Way I am Bowling: Nathan Lyon
Nathan Lyon further said that despite a challenging series he is happy with the way he has been bowling.
“This summer has been challenging… playing against India again. They have obviously come up with plans to combat me. But I am quite happy with the way I have been bowling. I have been able to create some chances which has been really positive with the way they (the deliveries) have been coming out but some days the wheel doesn’t turn around and you don’t have much luck in the middle. I just got to stay patient” he said.
Meanwhile, The Gabba has been Australia’s fortress, and they have not lost a Test there since 1988 – an unbeaten streak of 28 games. In the 55 Tests the Aussies have played in Brisbane to date, they have won 33, drawn 13, tied one, and lost eight matches.
