Ncell Partners With Nepal Premier League 2024 As ‘Powered By’ Sponsor

Ncell has entered a partnership with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) as the “Powered By” sponsor for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024. This agreement marks a significant step in promoting domestic cricket talent in Nepal. Jabbor Kayumov, Managing Director and CEO of Ncell, and Paras Khadka, Secretary of CAN, formalized the collaboration last week.

Ncell, aligning with its theme “Here for You,” aims to foster cricket’s growth by supporting this professional franchise-based T20 tournament. The tournament, renowned for its inclusion of international players and top-tier production, will also be broadcast on global sports channels.

According to Kayumov, this partnership reflects Ncell’s dedication to sports development and youth empowerment. He emphasized the role of NPL in providing a platform for Nepal’s cricketing talents to showcase their skills while contributing to social unity. Ncell’s involvement will extend beyond sponsorship, offering live screenings, exclusive customer offers, and on-ground activations throughout the tournament.

A Premier Cricketing Event for Nepal

The NPL, scheduled from November 30 to December 21, will feature eight franchise teams representing major Nepali cities: Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Janakpur, Lumbini, Karnali, Biratnagar, and Sudurpashim. The tournament, held at Tribhuwan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, will follow a round-robin format with 32 matches and 160 players participating. This structure aims to enhance the competitive spirit and global appeal of Nepali cricket.

Paras Khadka highlighted NPL’s mission to establish itself as a world-renowned cricket league while nurturing local talent. He expressed gratitude to Ncell for their unwavering support in realizing this vision.

Ncell’s Broader Sports Commitment

Ncell’s involvement in sports extends beyond cricket. The company previously supported various tournaments, including the ICC League 2, the Nepal-Canada ODI Series, and domestic football events like the Birgunj and Jhapa Gold Cups. Ncell’s historical contributions also include organizing Nepal’s first domestic cricketing event in 2014 in collaboration with CAN.

This renewed partnership underscores Ncell’s dedication to fostering sports excellence and empowering youth across Nepal. By strengthening its ties with CAN and actively engaging in sports initiatives, Ncell continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Nepali sports.
