Nepal all set to play debut ODI series against the Netherlands

Nepal will be announcing their arrival in the ODI format of the game against the Netherlands in the month of August. The matches will be played at the Dutch grounds but the venues haven”t been disclosed yet.

The two-match ODI series will be played on August 1 and 3 respectively. The series will be played after the T20 triseries between MCC, Nepal and Netherlands at Lord”s which is scheduled on July 29.

It is to be noted that Nepal secured the ODI status after defeating Papua New Guinea in the ICC qualifiers couple of months back.

The Netherlands last played an ODI at New Zealand in 2014 against Canada in which they lost their ODI status. Speaking on the same Netherlands coach Ryan Campbell said “We are delighted to welcome Nepal for their first ODI”s, and our first ODI on home soil since 2013. After the honour of being invited to play at Lords, we look forward showing our home fans what we can do. Nepal are an exciting team as we”ve all seen from the IPL Sandeep Lamichhane is a world-class player, will be a privilege to have them here. I am sure it will be a great occasion. “

It will be really interesting to see the associate nations” performances on the big stage. Afghanistan team have been really receiving accolades over their quality games in the recent years. Nepal will really be trying to seek the public attention as they have a star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane in their squad.
