The Nepal U19 Women’s team got bowled out for a paltry eight runs against the United Arab Emirates U19 team. Playing in the Asia Qualifier of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup on June 4 at the UKM-YSD Cricket Oval, Bangi, the team set this unwanted record on their name.
The Nepal team won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision backfired as the batters failed terribly. Nepal lost their first four wickets for just two runs on the board inside three overs. They ended up scoring just eight runs before getting bowled out.
Batters Anjali Bishowkarma, Sana Praveen, Shristi Jaisi, Kritika Marasini, R Shrestha, and AK Yadav could not open their accounts. Meanwhile, Kiran Kunwari Kunwar, AP Magar, and A Kadayat scored one run each. Sneha Mahara was the leading run-scorer with three runs, while Maneesha Rana scored 2 runs.

UAE’s Mahika Gaur ran through the Nepal batting order as she took five wickets in the innings. The left-arm bowler conceded only two runs in 4.2 overs, to pull off a brilliant performance. Mahika was supported well by Indhuja Nandakumar, who picked up three wickets while conceding just six runs in her spell.
