“New Fraud In India” -Deepak Chahar Claims That Zomato Has Accused Him Of Dishonesty

Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar claimed that Zomato called him a liar. Subsequently, the food delivery giant issued an apology to the medium pacer. On the night of Saturday, February 24, the Indian pacer shared a post on a social media platform, outlining his issues after ordering food on Zomato.

He asserted that the app indicated his ordered food as ‘delivered,’ despite him not receiving it. Chahar additionally claimed that when he contacted Zomato’s customer service, they accused him of dishonesty.

Expressing his unsatisfactory encounter with the food delivery application, Chahar posted on his social media handle X, stating:

“new fraud in India 😂 . Ordered food from @zomato and app shows delivered but didn’t receive anything. After calling the customer service they also said that it’s been delivered and m lying 🤥 . M sure lot of people must be facing same issues. Tag @zomato and tell your story.”

He posted a screenshot from the Zomato app displaying the order as ‘delivered.’ In response to the cricketer’s post, Zomato Care issued an apology, stating:

“Apologizing on the issue, Zomato replied to the post on X, saying, “Hi Deepak, We’re deeply concerned about your experience and apologize for any inconvenience. Rest assured, we take such issues seriously and are urgently looking into the matter to ensure a swift resolution.”

Chahar replied to Zomato’s comment and stated:

“Just wanted to highlight this as lot of people face this issue and no proper action is taken giving back the money of the order will not solve the issue. Hunger cannot be compensate with money.”

In reply to this, Zomato Care provided another response, stating:

“We truly understand the seriousness of this situation, Deepak, and are committed to resolving the underlying issue. Your satisfaction is paramount to us. Kindly share a convenient time for our team to connect with you and discuss this. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.”

Numerous users commented on the post, acknowledging that they have also encountered similar issues with the food delivery app.

Chahar has been inactive since December 2023

Regarding cricket, 31-year-old Chahar has been absent from competitive matches since December 2023. His most recent appearance for India was in a T20I against Australia in Raipur, where he recorded figures of 2/44 from four overs.

Although initially selected for the ODIs in South Africa, he withdrew from the series due to a family medical emergency. Chahar has participated in 13 ODIs and 25 T20Is, securing 16 and 31 wickets, respectively. Additionally, he has two half-centuries in ODIs.
