New Zealand Dominate Pakistan To Clinch T20I Series 3-1

New Zealand secured a dominant victory against Pakistan in the fourth T20I at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, on March 23, sealing the series with a 3-1 lead. Batting first, the Black Caps made a strong start with Tim Seifert and Finn Allen scoring 44 and 50 runs, respectively. Their solid foundation was further strengthened by contributions from Mark Chapman (24) and Daryl Mitchell (29).

However, the highlight of the innings was Michael Bracewell’s late flourish, as he remained unbeaten on 46 runs off just 26 deliveries. His explosive finish propelled New Zealand to a formidable total of 220 runs. On the bowling front for Pakistan, Haris Rauf led with three wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi chipped in with two and one wicket, respectively.

Pakistan’s Batting Struggles

Chasing 221, Pakistan faced immediate setbacks, losing both openers Mohammad Haris (2) and Hasan Nawaz (1) cheaply. The top order collapse continued with Salman Agha departing for just one run. Irfan Khan attempted to stabilize the innings but could only manage 24 runs. The struggles persisted as Shadab Khan (1) and Khushdil Shah (6) fell quickly.

New Zealand

Abdul Samad emerged as Pakistan’s top scorer with 44 runs off 30 deliveries, but the rest of the lineup failed to make an impact. The Black Caps’ disciplined bowling attack dismantled Pakistan’s batting unit, bowling them out for a mere 105 runs.

New Zealand’s Bowling Brilliance Seals Series

New Zealand’s bowlers executed their plans to perfection, securing a massive 115-run win. Jacob Duffy was the standout performer, leading the attack with four wickets. Zakary Foulkes impressed with three scalps, while Will O’Rourke, James Neesham, and Ish Sodhi contributed with a wicket each.

Their collective effort ensured Pakistan never gained momentum in the run chase. With this emphatic victory, New Zealand wrapped up the series 3-1. As they prepare for the fifth and final T20I, the Black Caps will look to maintain their dominant form, while Pakistan will aim to salvage some pride with a strong finish.
